I'm Sad And I Don't Know Why

Come along with Jojo..

An adventurous, thoughtful, 7 year old wandering the globe trying to understand the sadness inside. Jojo travels the world, communicating with the animals, looking for some clarity about this feeling of sadness within.

After experiencing emotional roadblocks, the story showcases Jojo’s perseverance to get to the bottom of this mystery. That determination brings rewards with Jojo having a beautiful connection that gains understanding.
“A beautiful take home message.” - Sarah, mother of 2

Jojo’s Feeling Lonely

“Inside, watching the beautiful sea creatures, Jojo wondered if any of them became lonely. There were sea horses in pairs, fish in schools and a group of sharks that circled them all.
Looking around, Jojo spotted a turtle sitting on a rock all by itself, there were no other turtles around - just this one. Jojo thought it looked very lonely. ‘Just like me’ thought Jojo.”

Jojo struggles to understand that even when there are plenty of people around, it is possible to still feel lonely. Or is it?

This story has rhyme, more adventures and another feel good ending for Jojo who once again, gains clarity to help move forward with another one of those big feelings.
“What a lovely, inspiring narrative. The practical step of releasing those thoughts is such a beautiful way to show children how to manage their emotions.” - Andrea, mother of 1

“A reflective story as Jojo examines the connections between loneliness and peace. The author skilfully employs light and thoughtful concepts that invite feelings to be questioned and explored.” - Erin, mother of 3

“..with Jojo presenting such self-reliance and strength of character,
this book is a must for any child’s storytime.” - James, father of 2

Jojo’s Energy Bubble

“Jojo has a bubble.
A big bubble.
A very, very big bubble and it floats above Jojo’s head.
Jojo calls it My Energy Bubble and inside this bubble is the energy of all of Jojo’s feelings.
Happiness, playfulness, excitement. These feelings were the light feelings. Light, bright and cheerful. But this bubble also carried feelings like sadness, anxiety and grief. These were the heavy feelings and Jojo had a few of those today…”

Join Jojo on this journey of trying to put all those big feelings in their place. With insight and a sense of maturity and playfulness, Jojo once again reaches a place of understanding and acceptance.
“Jojo’s Energy Bubble is an interesting concept for children to identify and manage their feelings and in turn, their responses. I found it really helpful for my granddaughter.”

Joanna, mother of 3, grandmother to 7

Jojo Was Wondering

“Jojo was wondering. Wondering about everything. What if dinosaurs were invisible but super noisy, would it be easier or harder to find them when they were hiding? What if we all walked on our hands, would they start smelling like our feet? What if stars made a noise when they twinkled, would it keep us awake or help us sleep?”

Jojo has a huge number of wonderings roaming around that beautiful mind. Comical, interesting, valid wonderings that Jojo wonders if sharing them with friends is a good idea.
“LOVED Jojo Was Wondering. Beautiful. Quirky. Just right.” - Sean, father of 4

“Jojo Was Wondering is an inspirational narrative which introduces children to self-reflection. It creates a sense of shared experiences and gives the reader an opportunity to be integrated into the storyline. The author’s continued ability to engage the reader in her books is wondrous”. - Michelle, mother of 3
